While researching, the Alchemist discovered that the Ancients once used gemstones as a natural power source for augmentation. The gems originated below the earth and have mysterious properties that allow them to cling to surrounding energies.
To harness the power of a gemstone, you will first need to know the location of a Gem Forge. Thankfully, the Alchemist knows where to look.

Find Out Where The Intruders Came From
You defeated the enemies inside the Gem Forge and discovered that they were holding onto
a resource called "Archaic Essence I".
While the Gem Forge is still intact, the rest of the little sanctum is ransacked. Perhaps the Fell came here to claim the Archaic Essence I used in weapon augmentation for themselves.
